What's new

Recent updates to Linux Installation Centers. Newest first.

  1. Marketing pages & global polish

    • Global CSS: smooth scrolling and themed text selection (accent colors in light and dark).
    • Home: subtle page gradient, sticky header with blur and border, soft hero glow behind the logo row, frosted logo container, hover depth on feature and snapshot cards, and refined “How it works” step badges.
    • Support the project, What’s new, and the public-simple layout: matching gradient backgrounds, sticky blurred headers, and slightly more vertical rhythm on main content.
    • Note: authenticated Flux app chrome (sidebar dashboards) was intentionally unchanged.
  2. Support & sustainability

    • Added Support the project page (/support-the-project) with domain priority, costs, and ways to help; linked from the home footer, What’s new header/footer, and this changelog.
    • Home footer now highlights the top need: a production domain, with a short line pointing to the support page.
  3. Milestone 3 — trust, profiles, and moderation

    • Post-completion reviews (1–5 stars) for both seeker and expert on closed jobs.
    • Optional public profiles at /profiles/{slug} with reviews; Settings → Public profile for seekers and experts.
    • Report install requests or counterparty users; admin reports queue with dismiss / actioned.
    • Admin can mark an install request as spam (experts lose access; seeker still sees a notice).
    • Reputation summary on seeker and expert dashboards.
  4. Evening (local time) — project log & changelog page

    • Added this What's new page and linked it from the home footer.
  5. Branding, favicons, and layout pass

    • Generated favicons and touch icon from the Linux ICs artwork (ICO, SVG with embedded raster, 16/32 PNG, Apple touch).
    • Published full wordmark and icon PNGs under public/images/.
    • Introduced the brand-logo-mark Blade component for consistent logo sizing and safe flex behavior (min-width / overflow).
    • Redesigned the home hero: logo on the left, headline and tagline on the right, with typography restored to the original scale.
    • Aligned login, register, and other auth layouts with the same logo treatment as the home page.
    • Updated dashboard and admin chrome (app-logo) to use the same mark; tightened nav links with min-w-0 for truncation.
    • Extended partials/head and the welcome page with explicit PNG favicon link tags.
    • Recorded changes in Git (commit 0f99516 on main).
  6. Seeker ↔ expert matching in the app

    • Milestone 1: install requests, expert offers, and local dev quality-of-life.
    • Assignments, “mark install complete,” and Milestone 2 messaging on matched jobs.
  7. Admin, marketing page, and platform upgrades

    • Admin panel: auth, user CRUD, install-request admin views, seeder.
    • Landing refresh (hero, cards, how-it-works) plus site footer and README links.
    • Expert vs seeker navigation, verified middleware, Livewire 4 + Flux + Laravel 12 bump, PHP 8.3 lockfile for hosting.
  8. Two kinds of users

    • Expert registration and login; UserRole enum; expert dashboard and profile in Flux.
  9. Project start

    • Laravel (TALL-style) app scaffold, role-based auth, docs folder and AI helper docs (e.g. GEMINI), early business pitch notes.
